It better be good. I gave the pumpkin squares a chance and we liked them. I should have seen that as an omen that the democratic squares would win. New recipe, please.Suzette Bradfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10654495517337152024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-39940304246866437162008-11-05T15:14:00.000-07:002008-11-05T15:14:00.000-07:00Love the cartoon with Lincoln! If I were him, as old as he is, I'd be glad I didn't win. I know you don't believe it Lula, but the media played a huge part in this election. They were so unusually and ridiculously harsh to Palin it was unreal. But that's life, and I think our country will be fine in the hands of Obama. McCain's speech was delievered beautifully and I'd like to meet the person who wrote it. Maybe the speechwriter should have run for president.Suzette Bradfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10654495517337152024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-9815853432725808902008-11-05T14:30:00.000-07:002008-11-05T14:30:00.000-07:00To those who voted for Obama, congrats to you. To...To those who voted for Obama, congrats to you. To those who voted for McCain, he was so dignified and gracious and we can be proud.
I have to say though that I disagree that the outcome would have been different if McCain had not pandered to the right. I think that is the only reason he got as far as he did. Sarah Palin and all. With the situation in the country and the Pres. approval numbers this shouldn't have been close at all. He was close because he is a moderate and brought on someone who made the right happy (Sarah). The fact that this election was even close was a miracle given the situation.
So what are us Moms who love politics going to talk about now? How about do we still trust the media? Really wether left or right there has been a shift in the public perception of the objectivity of the journalist. Thats a good one to start with. Maybe I'll do a post on that over on our blog. have a great day!Brayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01162584846084913618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-62969721246159780982008-11-05T10:42:00.000-07:002008-11-05T10:42:00.000-07:00I guess those "Yard Sales for Bill Sali" didn't pa...I guess those "Yard Sales for Bill Sali" didn't pan out like he thought....thank goodness.Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05434184208280400768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-21970153135598805382008-11-05T10:26:00.000-07:002008-11-05T10:26:00.000-07:00Last night was so exciting! I thought Mccain's speech was very good and I really appreciate how gracious he was. He looked so sad. I felt bad for him. I always do when someone loses since I know what it feels like (on a much smaller level) to put your life on hold and await the public to decide your fate.

I also worry for Obama because he is inheriting such a mess to clean up. I hope people give him a chance to try and fix things before they start ragging on him. With this economy I think it will have to be how much progess he can make, rather than fixing things, at least at first. But, the nice thing about living in a democracy is that if he is horribly incompetent then we can just elect someone new in 4 years.

And yeah!!! I just heard Minnick is declared the winner here for congress!!! Woo Hoo! Talk about a nail biter.Mandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08498952539780388706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-85992985276126878212008-11-05T09:42:00.000-07:002008-11-05T09:42:00.000-07:00I agree about his speech. He was completely different during his campaign. Not nearly so inspiring. I actually felt he meant what he said last night. He was a moderate Republican before, and I'm sure he'll be one again. If he hadn't tried to pander to the conservative right, in one way by choosing Gov Palin, we might have had a completely different outcome last night.

Not that I'm not mind-numbingly happy about the outcome! Wasn't that something last night? And thanks for the congratulations Jen. I hope as you do, that things really will head in the right direction.Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05434184208280400768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-88384962767951003842008-11-05T09:36:00.000-07:002008-11-05T09:36:00.000-07:00Congratulations Ladies. I hope that as he steps into the White House, during this very difficult time for our country, he will be able to lead as many believe he can.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10963831153683396110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8662234595493806811.post-8044999255652793492008-11-05T09:30:00.000-07:002008-11-05T09:30:00.000-07:00I though McCain's speech last night was unbelievab...I though McCain's speech last night was unbelievable- he was completely magnaminous.
