What is it with Facebook?
I agree Facebook is really weird. Anyone else think it's weird? Do I want to be tormented by people I haven't seen or thought about since high school again? Or better yet elementary school? What is it with people who have 250 friends. Really? 250...huh. I haven't had that many friends in my entire life. I just don't get it.
Yeah, this pretty well sums up my thoughts on it. I signed up, but I am not a big fan. I much prefer blogging. With Facebook, I talk to somebody who I haven't talked to in 15 years once or twice, and then once again never hear from them again- which is exactly how it was to begin with. I gained nothing. I don't know- just not a fan.
I'm sure the teenage set think it's fabulous, but I really don't want to spend that much time on my computer with my 250 friends (some of whom I was glad to be out of contact with, thank you very much). I agree with Christina--I prefer blogging. Regarding Facebook, Jay Leno said something to the effect of "Why can't I just pick up the phone and actually talk to my friends? Then I can really laugh out loud instead of LOL."
I don't know...I have actually gotten to know people in the ward, for example, much better through facebook association than I would just saying hi in the hallway at church. It is a weird thing, I agree, but I actually enjoy it. The high school connections are odd but can be interesting, and hey, it's better than having to go to a reunion or something. I personally hate talking on the phone (as any of my good friends who I NEVER talk to can attest) and avoid it at all costs, so the internet works for me.
