This is perfect! The whole thing is so political that I can't believe anyone is trying to get away with saying it isn't.

By the way, good point about the cost of the war. Funny how everyone is suddenly worried about their kid's future debt but they didn't seem to care about the cost of the war and the debt that it is creating. Sure... not political at all...

It is a great cartoon. Here's what some of our Idaho GOP House members called for on Tuesday at a rally here: abolishing the Federal Reserve System and the US Dep. of Education, withdrawing from the UN, restoring states' rights, ending bailouts, opposing Roe vs. Wade and securing borders.

Do any of those "ideas" have much to do with taxes? Can anyone say extremism??

Can't speak for the ID reps, but those are not the reason I was there, or majority of those I went with.

If it was organized by the RNC, why aren't they taking the credit? Conservatives are finally coming together with a common purpose, and it was successful. The RNC is floundering and I would expect them to take credit, even unfounded, if they could. And I hate to tell you, a good friend who is a democrat (but fiscally conservative) was at a tea party.

And in response to the cost of war, I want this war to end as soon as possible. There are several estimates of how much the total cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as been SO FAR (not projected) the high end was $900 billion, but the most common number I saw was $694 billion. Which just passed Vietnam (w/ inflation adjusted $686 billion) and is far behind WWII (inflation adjusted $4.1 trillion).

I hate to bring up such an antiquated document, but the purpose of the Fed. Govt is to "PROVIDE for the common defence" and only "PROMOTE general welfare". There is a difference, and I believe the fed. govt has been providing for the general welfare, not just promoting it. We could debate the war (which hopefully will end in Pres. Obama's 1st term). But it has begun, and hopefully almost over. Conservatives are pushing to stop bailouts and excessive spending NOW, before it escalates even further.

Conservatives called liberals "unpatriotic" when we protested the war and its costs(body count, injury, and $$) in the beginning, middle and now towards its end. Over a trillion dollars before its done and alot of people dead and injured. There is a big difference there, for me. I'm sorry, but the general welfare of American citizens is just as important as defense of this country - or pretend defense as I believe the Iraq War was. So now I will respond in kind. Ending the Department of Education and Federal Reserve Bank?? Hmm, sounds a bit unpatriotic and wacko to me. You had no one spouting forth this rhetortic at your rallies? Then you tranlated from the norm around the country.

If you think the RNC wasn't behind it all then you are naive, and if this has nothing to do with Obama in the Whitehouse then where were the protests after the first bail-out while Bush was president? Like on a blog I just read, it wasn’t until Obama pushed through a package containing a massive public works package and significant homeowner aid that conservatives took to the streets. In other words, it wasn’t until taxes turned into construction jobs and mortgage relief that working and middle-class Americans decided to protest.
