I'm so sick of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I borrowed this from the thinking site, I wasn't going to because at first I didn't think it was appropriate (sorry Judi I know how much you like Mr. Beck) but now, I am so sick of the whining I just can't take it any more. This whole tea party thing is nothing more than an outlet for anti-government wackos to get in the paper and on tv. Fox News has clearly blurred the lines between journalism and advocacy. Never seen anything so "fair and balanced" in my life. Wasn't the original Boston tea party in essence a rebellion against tax breaks for big corporations!! Isn't that the Republican mantra? Their battle cry against the government? Because that's what these protests are: anti-government and anti-taxes. Truly America at its finest. What a proud moment for Republicans. It's nothing more than political posturing. And like Peter said, these people are protesting in public parks paid for with tax dollars. Wonderful. Give me a break!!

I am also tired of all the complaining. That big bad Obama is out there trying to ruin our country. How dare he! :)

I can't believe people actually went to those protests.

Call me crazy but I appreciate the tax break right now. Every little bit helps in this tough economy.

As corrected--

Where were these "protesters" in the past decade where the previous administration ran up these huge deficits and got us into this mess??

And from a historical note, the original "tea party" stemmed from the colonial opposition to England levying taxes at all. Not that the colonists opposed taxation, they thought it should be done locally through provincial assemblies. I don't think anyone questions the LEGITAMACY of federal taxes now??

And I still can't type, see "LEGITAMACY" above.

BUT--Glen Beck is coming VERY close to treason and criminal initement of violence.

Exactly! I agree with both of you. And that picture the Doc put up. What the..?? That's just great. sigh.

When they did this a few months ago here, 3 people showed up. Lost a few pounds from laughing at that one. This time maybe 5-6 will show and put up some stupid sign like that one. Now that's progress, something to be proud of - in reverse!

Easy on the wine there Pete ;P, but that word looks okay to me and I haven't had anything but Koolaid of late. Not a good sign.

Quotes in the paper today were mainly from people complaining about Obama. One man commenting on how he cried when he was elected. Like he's brought about the end of the world or something. What a bunch of BALONEY!!!!! Of course, this whole mess is all his fault. Of course, that makes perfect sense! How mature, how infantile!

Am I the only one who thinks of something else when they say tea bagging? I am extremely naive when it comes to things like that but even I know what it means...

I just find it funny that all of these protesters are hanging tea bags on their glasses and don't seem to get the other meaning. Makes me giggle :)

I suppose my main problem with these "protests" against everything that's bothering Republicans right now (and the list goes on and on) is how one can justify spending billions of dollars a month on that war and not that much on handling this recession.

Billions upon billions have been spent on that war. Billions have now been spent here.

What's the difference?
None.

Where were the protests from Republican's when Bush was spending our grandchildren's money in Iraq? What will I tell my grandchildren when they are shouldered with all this debt I wonder. Iraq will still be the same as it ever was and America will be stronger. Which mattered the most?
