"My corpse is still warm, you know?"

The headline today read:

McCain declines to back Palin for 2012

Full article here (I can barely contain my glee, hee hee)

Although my initial reaction was, (gasp) "The Maverick did WHAT!?!?" but after reading the article, I didn't think it was as 'damaging' as the news stations are making. It is not good for her, for sure. But I don't think he said anything 'against' her. But, I won't monopolize more commenting space, since I wrote my reaction on my blog. But I'd LOVE to hear what your loyal following thinks!

Like I basically said on yours, the devil's in those little details, darn it.

He's trying to be gracious, sort of, in his maverickie way, but they've both been trading under-their-breath pot shots at each other's handlers for the last month.

I suspect he's sick of hearing about her. She stole all of his thunder during the campaign. What man would like that?

See comments on the mom's site. I agree with Okbush. But, LULA, I actually agree with you also. Just in looking at McCain, I think he personally has a hard time with Sarah Palin. I don't know that the dislike is as deep as you are hoping :) but I think it's there.

McCain is a politician. He isn't stupid (although he did pick her as VP... but I digress...). I don't think he wants to say something bad about her because who knows what will happen in 4 years. She could become the golden child that everyone wants in office, (I highly doubt it but who knows) so of course he doesn't want to say something bad about her. But, I do think if he really did like her and thought she would be a good president then he would have said yes, he most likely would endorse her. Just my 2 cents...

I agree. Definitely makes for great political theatre either way. I just read that they both auctioned off their blackberries without deleting all the files!!
I can't wait for that crap to splatter!

I guess I think it interesting that he won't endorse her in 2012 (and again, it is WAY too early, and I agree that the press oversimplified what was actually said, as OKBush said), but that he would have her be his VP- second in line to be the Pres. I just find it interesting...
