Ann Coulter receives a clear message: We've had enough!

Ann Coulter's new book Guilty: Liberal "victims" and Their Assault on America is about to hit bookstores. Until yesterday she was slated to appear on NBC's the Today Show, but because of an uproar from viewers, her visit is now canceled. Why you say? Let me include a few excerpts from her upcoming, heart-warming book. Gather your children around and get the popcorn. It's a real page turner.

~Coulter calls children whose parents divorce "future strippers" in a chapter titled "Victim of a Crime? Thank a Single Mother": We also have a term for the youngsters involved: "the children of divorce," or as I call them, "future strippers." It is a mark of how attractive it is to be a phony victim that divorcées will often claim to belong to the more disreputable category of "single mothers." [Page 36]

~Coulter, discussing "Republican turncoats," remarks that "their gender always remains the same. They are women, not limited to the biological sense". [Page 114]

~Coulter claims that Obama, actress Halle Berry, and musician Alicia Keys "race bait[ed] their way to success": In a related phenomenon, various half-black celebrities insist on representing themselves simply as "black" -- the better to race-bait their way to success. Actress Halle Berry, singer Alicia Keys, and matinee idol Barack Obama were all abandoned by their black fathers and raised by their white mothers. But instead of seeing themselves as half-white, they prefer to see the glass as half-black. They all choose to identify with the fathers who ditched them, while insulting the women who struggled to raise them. [Page 7]

~Coulter calls former White House press secretary Scott McClellan "retarded". [Page 118]

~ Coulter advances several falsehoods about Kerry in defending the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth...* Coulter also falsely suggests that no witnesses supported Kerry's account that his convoy came under enemy fire during the March 13, 1969, actions for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.* Coulter writes that Kerry "carrie[d] a home-movie camera to war in order to reenact combat scenes and tape fake interviews with himself" during his tour in Vietnam [Page 100].

~ Coulter devotes four pages of Guilty [173-176] to discussing her false assertion that "Obama himself compared Palin to a pig and then denied doing so."

I can't help but wonder who buys her books. Do people actually read this, or just burn them in effigy... She's still talking about Kerry because she has little else. Single mother's and Halle Berry? What did they ever do to her I wonder, and what do they have to do with politics?

My point in bringing up this hideous woman is this, NOBODY'S buying it! Does anyone really care what this woman has to say? Aren't we more worried about staying in our homes, keeping our jobs, our financial futures?

Someone needs to let the Republican extreme right-wingers know, we don't want to hear this dribble!

Recently the New York Times ran an article on how conservative right wing talk radio is gearing up to aggressively go after President-Elect Obama over the next four years. Rush Limbaugh demonstrated his commitment to this crusade last week on his radio show by blaming Democrats — especially Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — for starting the current economic crisis.

Limbaugh's theory: Schumer caused on caused a run on Ind Mac Bank in California this summer, in order to create a feeling of financial panic amongst the public. Democrats then capitalized on this panic with electoral wins in the White House and Congress. The purpose of gaining this power, according to Limbaugh, was to nationalize U.S. industries:

LIMBAUGH: Who’s benefiting? Aside from the people being bailed out. The Democrat party and Barack Obama are benefiting.
They got elected, they increased their numbers in the House, they increased their numbers in the Senate, they got the White House now, and they’ve got a crisis that people think can only be fixed with the all-mighty and powerful government interceding to save this or to save that, when in fact, the government is going to nationalize the automobile industry. It’s going to nationalize some banks. It’s going to nationalize the mortgage industry, and may end up nationalizing the automobile industry.

What??That's probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

So, this is the "rebirth of principled opposition"? This from the man who told Barbara Walters he's "not participating in the recession." Well, when you make 100 million I guess you don't have to. Just the little guy does. Just us poor folk.

You know what this kind of talk does? It polarizes a nation. It further divides us. With the economy such as it is, people losing their jobs, their homes, you'd think we'd try to come together instead of drawing more lines in the sand by lies and generalizations.

I'm hoping this plan of action backfires. That viewership will fall, that no one will buy Coulter's book.
I hope people from both sides can work together, and follow the best example of it I've seen so far, President-elect Barack Obama.

Here's what she said about the widows of 9/11 victims:
Coulter wrote (in her previous book): “These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis ... These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them ... I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much ...”

I thought you would like that...unfortunately, sad to say, she was on The Today Show today- the three major networks go back and forth between whether or not to have her on the show. They hate her (inparticular Matt Lauer, it appears), but she threatens to sue them for discrimination because she is not part of the "liberal media" so they end up folding in the end. She is a crazy, pshcho-path bi---. I am certain she will rot in Hell, along with Rush. Hopefully, nobody believes anything that comes out of her mouth- she refuses to debate, and anytime anybody questions her sources she changes the subject or walks out. She's a lunatic!!!

But, on the plus side- I guess because Limbaugh is making so much money they had to raise his syndication fees, and a number of radio staions across the country are dropping his program! Yippee! Less people to listen to his garbage...

But, for you conservatives, I do think you have some great people on your side who do bring up very valid points- Glen Beck is just one- but Coulter and Rush just spew hate and lies- virtually everything out of their mouths are lies, and, well, you can't debate liars, so they end up continuing their crap.

These people are so sad. What's sadder is there are tons of losers who buy into their bigotry. And the only reason she writes about Halle Bery and Alicia Keys. Is for the press it will get her crappy book. This "woman" hates everything and everybody who doesn't think like she does.

What? She was on? I wrote this early this morning and have yet to read anything newsie today. I can't believe it. How depressing. I hope her book tanks. Same with Rush, and Hannity. Yuck..
I'll spare Beck from my wrath though, because at least he's pleasing to look at, and he writes good Christmas books.;0)

There is a difference between satire - sarcasm or irony exposing human folly, and being sardonic - mockiningly or tauntingly bitter, derisive, and cynical.
Ann Coulter is the latter. She's not a comedian. No one but the extremists think she's funny, which I think is horribly sad.

She's mean as Hell to get ratings. I understand the ploy, but I will never buy into it, or give her money for it.

Apparently some people think its okay.

I don't like Bill Maher either. He has gotten alot of flack for what he's said. I would never buy his book, watch his movie or try to explain away his behaviour with, "he just uses satire and over exaggerates everything. It's just his nature and his way."

But you see that's the difference here. Ann Coulter has written and said some of the meanest stuff I've ever heard in politics. Rush Rumbaugh is now saying Democrats started the financial crisis to get our party in office, and you all just lap it up.

Just satire.
Right.
I prefer to take a higher road.

Lula, I was on board until you made the comment "you all just lap it up". I don't like Ann Coulter. I don't like Rush Limbaugh. I think they are polarizing, and although have some correct facts and good points, their methods are incorrect and can be destructive. But to lump conservatives into ignorant lap dogs who eat up anything these 'Conservative Gods' throw our way is just as incorrect and destructive.

I would never assume, and now I know better, than to lump you, Christina, Mandy, et. all, to agree with everything Bill Maher, Keith Olberman, David Gergen, etc. We are all thinkers. Not loyalist zombies prescribing to everything 'our side' believes.

I'm sure you agree. And I'm sure you agree that when we limit Ann Coulter's speech, we would in turn limit Bill Maher, and eventually everyone's freedom to express their opinions. It can't go one way, allowing one voice and not the other. Unless we are moving towards a totalitarian state, which all these conservative extremists are warning against.

Wow! I can't believe people actually listen to her when she says things like that. And if she is trying to be funny she is doing a horrible job at it. I am surprised anyone would defend her after reading what she said about the 911 widows or the single mothers chapter.

Hopefully everyone just changed the channel when she was on. I would have.

And as for Lula saying "you all just lap it up" for me I thought she meant those that listen to and like Coulter and Limbaugh. I didn't get the impression she meant all Republicans.

No offense meant OKBushman. I mainly referred to Rush's millions of listeners, who refer to him as their main source of information and believe little else.

I'm typically an unbiased ranter. I don't believe in making excuses for assholes. Bill Maher is a class A jackass. Coulter, upon seeing her interviewed, is truly a world class, pardon my french, bitch, and boy, if it's an act she uses to make a point then she deserves the Academy Award!

I guess I don't understand how her comments, her one line defamations can somehow be made better if I view the FULL context. Sounds like an excuse to me.

You know sometimes there is no gray area in political philosophy. Sometimes it's just black or white.

No offense taken. Just wanted us to be on the same page.

It is hard for me to believe that either Bill Maher or Ann Coulter REALLY believe what they spew. How depressing must life be if you honestly believe that of people.

Money brings out the best of people sometimes. I laugh when I watch those reunion shows of Survivor, and the real stinkers always say they aren't that way in real life.

Sure they aren't. You reap what you sow.

And I shouldn't have said I'm an unbiased ranter. That might not be true.;o)
I'd say I'm more of an equal-opportunity ranter.

As much as it pains me to delete comments, I will not allow my site to further any right-wing freakshow agenda. I'm not in the mood to debate with drive-by bloggers whose only goal is to make inflammatory remarks and leave the scene of the crime, because frankly, I just don't care.

In the future, how about keeping your snarky remarks on your own Ann Coulter worshiping conservative site, or I know, how about you spend your money on a book that's WORTH reading. How about the current President-elect's, The Audacity of Hope. He only remains positive in it though, that might be a bit above your taste.

Thank you for your helpful comments ladies, but I just don't care. Take it to your own site. I'm not in the mood for wasted debate. And for your information, I can "ignore" whatever I want.
